DSR: How old were you when you developed an interest in hip hop music?

DJ: Very young I would say 12 – 13

DSR: So what area are you from? How is it being a hip hop artist in your area?

DJ: I’m from Houston, Texas, in my area its pretty nice because I can get it out to all my friends and then they give it to their friends, just a lot of word of mouth going on! It’s a lot of opportunities as long as you work hard!

DSR: How would you describe your hip hop sound to someone who has never heard it before?

DJ: I would describe it as a unique very truthful sound! Like to use clever metaphors, something the people can ride to!

DSR: What influences shaped your hip hop musical style?

DJ: West coast! DOM KENNEDY!

DSR: If you had to put yourself into a genre other than hip hop or create your own, what would it be called?

DJ: Smooth rap style JUST BE COOL Genre.

DSR: Who is in charge of writing your hip hop songs? If you, where do you draw your inspiration from?

DJ: Totally myself, I draw inspiration from my everyday life, that’s why im always trying to do something different in my daily life! Because I can only rap what I live.

DSR: What’s the easiest kind of hip hop song for you to write?

DJ: A truthful fun hip hop song!

DSR: What is your main goal at this point? Where do you possibly see yourself 5-10 years from now?

DJ: The point i’m at now I just want to be heard! I’m just trying to put my story out every where! I know there are people in every state that can relate and when they hear it they will vibe with it no doubt! I see myself just making a mark in this rap game! Doing shows in every city having a good fans that I can really interact with through my music and hopefully be gaining more everyday! I just want to be making good music!

DSR: Tell us about some hip hop musical giants who profoundly inspired you.

DJ: Well Dom Kennedy because his style is just incredible to me. It’s just so smooth and I try to take that same approach with my flow! Just the art of story telling of course Kendrick Lamar but mostly DOM!

DSR: Are there any hip hop artists you wish to work with in the future?

DJ: I mean only the people I really look up too! Other than that I just want to be heard!

DSR: If you could create your own hip hop dream tour, who would be a part of it?

DJ: Haha Dom Kennedy Once again! Me and him would Kill ever state, city everything!

DSR: Have you learned any lessons in this hip hop game so far and if so, what are they?

DJ: Yes I have learned that if you work hard those late nights staying up late really pays off, and im just getting started so if I continue to work like I do I know im going to go pretty far with it!

DSR: Are you working on any hip hop projects at the moment?

DJ: Yes! Getting in the studio next month most likely and have it released very soon!

DJ: Just always stay working hard and at the end of the day when you lay down you have to feel like no one worked harder than you! And that’s basically what I live by day-to-day!
